Save Time - Save Money - Improve Confidence - Visualise On Set

Visualise Set Extensions and Character Animations Live On-Set

Direct actors against LIVE VR Set Extensions rather than blank Blue/Green Screens. Setup eye lines and interactions with virtual characters in real time on-set.

Reduce the need for Match Moving!

Track cameras in real-time live on-set.

Plan and test your camera moves in advance.

Plan camera moves in any 3D software and then have a real Motion Control Rig replicate them exactly on-set. Convert from 3D Previz Cameras to real world Motion Control Rigs in SECONDS not DAYS.

Simulate a real camera crane or Motion Control Rig.

Learn your Motion Control software in the comfort of your own home / office / journey without needing a physical rig present. Previsualisation or train how to use the manufacturers motion control software by simulating a crane or rig in Take4D (compatible with all Mark Robert's and Kuper Control Rigs).

Cranes & Dollies

Technocrane

Take4D can stream and record camera movement and meta data from cranes and dollies. Virtual sets can be rendered in real time and chroma-keyed with video straight from the camera lens.

Motion Control Rigs

Milo_Marker_Roberts_Rig Wotan_Marker_Roberts_Motion_Control_Rig

Take4D is capable of controlling or streaming data to / from any motion control rig, off the shelf or proprietary.

Construct a virtual representation of a real Rig including limits for:

  • Degree of Freedom (direction of travel or rotation)
  • Positional Limits
  • Velocity
  • Acceleration
  • Jerk (change in rate of Acceleration)

Design any rig configuration. This virtual rig has the same dynamic characteristics as that of the real physical rig (except erroneous unpredictable errors such as friction and flexion). Dedicated drivers for Mark Roberts Flair and Kuper Control systems are included.

Camera Tracking

Optical Motion Capture Camera Laser Tracked Camera

Technologies include proprietary laser system, optical motion capture, inertial and encoder devices, as well as streaming data directly from a number of rig manufacturers such as Mark Roberts, Pacific Motion Control, Technocrane, General Lift, EncodaCam, and more.

Each have their advantages and disadvantages and suitable for use under different environments and applications. Please contact us to discuss your specific requirements.

3D Data

Transfer / Solve camera moves from one type to another. For example, record a Virtual Camera with an Optical Motion Capture System and have a real Motion Control Camera replicate that move exactly on a different set:

3D_Conversion

Take4D has been optimized for speed. This is the main reason why it is a stand alone applications however we have developed plug-ins for third-party application. There are 4 ways that we support designing and solving camera moves:

  1. Design your Previzualisation and camera move in a third party program such as Maya or 3D Studio Max. Export the camera move as an FBX file and import it into Take4D. Solve the move onto a Motion Control Camera and send it to the rig.

  2. Design the camera move using the Motion Control manufacturers software (Flair / Kuper / etc...) streaming the data directly into your 3D program in real time. Take4D acts as an interpreter, converting from the Virtual Rig into a 3D Camera directly inside the 3D applications. Designing your move this way has the advantage that NO solving is necessary and that you know the move WILL run perfectly on the day on-set. An addition advantage is that you now have very few key frames (only the ones in the Motion Control software rather than a key of every frame as you would if using method 1 above) making it much easier to modify the shot on-set since no solving is being done.

  3. Key frame the shot using Take4D (with or without real time streaming plug ins as described above).

  4. A mixture of all 3 above.

3D camera data can be reverse engineered from Motion Control or Crane shots.
