solutions to a wide range of entertainment, commercial, and research
industries.
Richard is a leading expert in the field of Motion Capture Technology
and as a Performance Capture Supervisor & Effects Producer,
Character Technical Director, and Developer of Digital Performance
Technology, works internationally to design new studios and develop
projects using digital performance.
With over fifteen years experience in Motion Capture, Animatronics,
and Character Animation, Richard was one of the first to use Optical
Motion Capture for feature film production becoming Head of Motion
Capture for Jim Henson's Creature Shop - UK* in 1994. His
early career was mainly centred around the film, games, and biomechanics
research industries in UK, USA, and Asia, and as MoCap popularity
grew broadened into a wide range of markets including TV broadcast,
multimedia, dance, and theatre, managing projects and lecturing
throughout mainland Europe.

in Electronics, Mechanics, Computing, Biomechanics, and Human &
Animal Anatomy, Richard also designs performance technology including
motion capture, digital puppetry, and motion control special
effects systems.
